Trump shrugs off Jindal attacks, says he polls too low for response

Donald Trump on Thursday shrugged off attacks from rival Republican presidential candidate Bobby Jindal, dismissing the Louisiana governor as irrelevant in the White House race.

“I only respond to people that register more than 1% in the polls,” the billionaire businessman said in a statement, adding the Jindal “never had a chance” in 2016.

“He did not make the debate stage and therefore I have never met him,” Trump added, alluding to Jindal being in the undercard debate at the first GOP event last month.

Trump responded after Jindal unloaded on the GOP front-runner during a speech at the National Press Club in Washington, calling him “weak” and “dangerous.”

“Donald Trump is not a serious candidate. He’s a narcissist, he’s an egomaniac. The only thing he believes in is himself,” Jindal said. “Everybody knows this is true.”

Jindal on Thursday also suggested that Trump has no room to judge the appearance of GOP rival Carly Fiorina after Trump was quoted in Rolling Stone magazine this week commenting on the businesswoman’s face.

“I think it’s pretty outrageous for him to be attacking anybody’s appearance when it looks like he’s got a squirrel sitting on his head,” Jindal told CBS News.

“I think he should stop attacking other people’s appearances,” Jindal added.

Jindal’s campaign has similarly targeted Trump on social media, posting provocative videos and tweets painting Trump as only interested in himself.
