Cruz sets June book release

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) will release his latest book on June 30 as he continues to weigh a likely White House run.

According to The Associated Press, A Time for Truth: Reigniting the Miracle of America from HarperCollins Publishers will convey Cruz’s story and message to voters ahead of 2016.

{mosads}“Men and women are frustrated with career politicians who are not listening to them,” Cruz told the AP, adding that themes for a potential presidential campaign are “certainly reflected in this book.”

Cruz said his book would focus on individuals with the “courage” to stand up for their beliefs regardless of consequences.

The work seeks to mirror then-Sen. John F. Kennedy’s Profiles in Courage, which praised U.S. senators for taking stands unpopular with their own parties. Kennedy wrote the book before becoming president in 1961.

Cruz’s book joins a library of books authored by other possible presidential contenders.

Democrat Hillary Clinton has penned a tome, as have Republican Sens. Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Rand Paul (Ky.). and Gov. Scott Walker (Wis.).

A Time for Truth was not Cruz’s only possible 2016 maneuver on Thursday. Politico reported that Brian Phillips, formerly the communications director for Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), has joined Cruz’s PAC as a senior adviser.
