Poll: Libertarian Johnson beating Trump with millennials in Colorado

Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson is beating Donald Trump among millennial voters in Colorado, a new poll finds.

The latest Quinnipiac University Poll shows Johnson with an 11-point advantage over Trump among voters between 18 and 34 years of age, station Fox 31 Denver reports.

{mosads}”Gary Johnson’s campaign is the only one gaining steam the other two are dying day-by-day,” said Johnson’s Colorado campaign spokesman, Steve Kerbel. “Governor Johnson likes to say most people are libertarian, they just don’t know it yet.”

Overall, the poll shows Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton leading among all Colorado voters, with 41 percent support. Trump, the GOP nominee, follows with 33 percent. Johnson has 16 percent.

The poll comes as Johnson is making a strong push to get on the presidential debate stage. To do so, he must average 15 percent in a national polls.

Johnson is currently polling around 8.6 percent. 

The Quinnipiac University Poll surveyed 830 likely Colorado voters with a margin of error of 3.4 percent.
