{mosads}Marist polling director Lee Miringoff suggested the margins would likely narrow as President Obama’s post-election glow fades.
“We’re seeing the aftermath of 2012 still casting a cloud on 2016,” Miringoff said in a statement.
Both Biden and Clinton spoke Tuesday night at the Vital Voices Awards ceremony at the Kennedy Center. It was Clinton’s first public speaking engagement since leaving the State Department.
“There’s no woman like Hillary Clinton, and that’s a fact,” Biden said, calling Clinton’s service “magnificent.”
Clinton returned the praise, heralding Biden’s efforts on behalf of women.
“Vice President Biden and I have worked together on so many important issues,” Clinton said. “One that is particularly close to his heart is the fight against domestic violence, and I know what a personal victory it was for him to see the Violence Against Women Act reauthorized last month.”
