RNC gets personal with Valentine’s Day attacks
The Republican National Committee (RNC) is seeing red this Valentine’s Day, distributing 18 fake cards jabbing Democratic politicians in a lighthearted but personal manner.
“I have a short list of Valentines this year,” reads the card mocking Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio), shown with the bottom portion of his face cut off in a knock on his short stature.
{mosads}”Happy Tuesday. That’s as sweet as I get,” reads another bearing the image of Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (Fla.).
The cards can be seen here.
Other Democrats the RNC is sweet on include Attorney General Eric Holder, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine.
“If anyone asks, I didn’t send you this Valentine,” says the card showing former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) grimacing.
President Obama and Vice President Biden don’t escape Valentine’s Day without a little ridicule at the hands of the RNC, either.
“Sorry, no Valentine’s gift, my credit card’s been denied,” says one of three cards poking fun at Obama.
RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said Obama’s affection for making speeches, spending money and campaigning signaled that “love is definitely in the air at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.”
“In the spirit of the season, we hope Obama and his liberal buddies will find Cupid’s arrow and show some love for creating jobs with the Keystone pipeline, getting our spending under control and avoiding tax increases in this tough economy,” Priebus said in a statement.
