Republicans: Arizona still a deep-red state
Wiley ticked off a list of recent Republican wins in the state, including wide majorities in both chambers of the Legislature and the party’s success in holding on to its dominance in the state’s congressional delegation.
{mosads}He also claimed that despite a dip in the Republican Party’s registration advantage in 2009, Republicans have enjoyed a surge since 2010 that now gives them a 150,000-strong advantage among active voters in Arizona.
“Taken together with his poor marks among independent voters, it becomes hard to mathematically find enough voters for Obama to win, even if all Democrats eventually hold their noses and vote for him,” Wiley said.
