House Dems raise $21 million in September
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), the party’s fundraising arm for House candidates, raised a record $21 million in September.
That figure is part of the DCCC’s $44 million fundraising haul for the third quarter.
{mosads}The DCCC also had $45.5 million on hand going into October. The September figure is greater than those of the two previous months combined, and more than the group has ever raised in that month of an election year.
According to the group, it’s fundraising success was largely thanks to grassroots contributions, with the average donation being $28.
The numbers were first reported by Politico earlier on Tuesday.
The DCCC’s GOP counterpart, the National Republican Congressional Committee, has not yet released its quarterly report.
Rep. Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.), chairman of the DCCC, said in a statement that the September haul is a referendum on House Republicans’ support for Donald Trump, the GOP’s “dangerous and unfit standard-bearer.”
“Whether House Republicans still stand with Trump, or just recently — and desperately — fled from him out of political calculation, we know voters will also hold House Republicans accountable on November 8th,” Luján said.
