Wasserman Schultz dodges question about DNC emails

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (Fla.), who resigned as chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) last month after hacked emails revealed that some DNC staffers were plotting to undermine the presidential campaign of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), avoided a question about the scandal on Saturday.

{mosads}At an appearance with Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine in Florida on Saturday, Wasserman Schultz was asked about the leaked emails.

“When you talk to me about emails, I’m not sure which ones you’re talking about,” she told a reporter, according to Fox News.

“If you mean [Hillary Clinton’s] emails … I’ve been campaigning all over this community, all over the state and all over the country,” Wasserman Schultz said. “There is not one person, [when] I go and campaign on behalf of Hillary Clinton, that asks me about emails.”

Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee, has been under scrutiny for her use of a private email serve while she was secretary of State.

Wasserman Schultz faces a primary battle on Tuesday against political newcomer Tim Canova, who has received an endorsement from Sanders.
