GOP super-PAC ties vulnerable House Dems to Hillary

The super-PAC tied to House Republican leadership is launching a new website to try and tie vulnerable House Democratic candidates to Hillary Clinton.

The new website is called “I’m with Careless,” a reference to FBI Director James Comey’s remarks that Clinton showed “extreme carelessness” in her handling of classified emails.

{mosads}It targets 12 candidates in competitive races, who are shown in manipulated pictures wearing T-shirts reading “I’m with careless” — a spin on the joke T-shirts that read “I’m with stupid.”

Each candidate has a profile linking them to Clinton and including their statements supporting the Democratic presidential nominee.

“Putting politics before principle, these Democrats are ‘Ready for Hillary’ regardless of how untrustworthy and reckless she’s found by voters or even the FBI,” said Emily Davis, the Congressional Leadership Fund’s communications director.

“Democrats proudly embracing Hillary Clinton will have to explain to voters why they continue to stand by her record of scandals and dishonesty.”

The targeted candidates include Reps. Ami Bera (Calif.), Pete Gallego (Texas) and Brad Ashford (Neb.) and candidates Morgan Carroll (Colo.), Annette Taddeo (Fla.), Joe Garcia (Fla.), Jacky Rosen (Nev.), Colleen Deacon (N.Y.), Emily Cain (Maine), Steve Santarsiero (Pa.) and LuAnn Bennett (Va.)

It’s the latest attempt by Republicans to flip the script on Democrats, who have repeatedly sought to link GOP down-ballot candidates with their nominee, Donald Trump.

Both Clinton and Trump sport historically low favorability ratings for presidential nominees.
