GOP picks off Nevada House seat
Cresent Hardy dethroned Rep. Steven Horsford (D-Nev.) on Tuesday, in another pickup for House Republicans.
{mosads}Horsford conceded to Hardy hours after polls closed in Nevada, the Las Vegas Sun reported. Hardy led Horsford 49 to 46 percent, with around 70 percent of the vote reporting.
Hardy’s victory caps a banner night for Nevada Republicans, who were dominant in statewide elections and now hold three of the state’s four congressional seats.
Democrats spent hundreds of thousands of dollars late in an attempt to save Horsford’s seat in the Las Vegas area that President Obama won by 10 points in 2012.
