Illinois Republican returns to Congress

Republican Robert Dold will return to Congress next year after voters in Illinois’s 10th Congressional District unseated Democratic incumbent Rep. Brad Schneider, a freshman, according to The Associated Press.

{mosads}With 96 percent of precincts reporting, Dold beat Schneider 52 percent to 48 percent in what was considered a toss-up race.

Dold previously served in the House after he was elected in 2010, but lost to Schneider in 2012.
