National GOP throws Barrow’s words back at him in new ad

The National Republican Congressional Committee is throwing Rep. John Barrow’s (D-Ga.) words back at him in a new ad accusing the congressman of double-talk.

{mosads}”John Barrow thinks he can fool you … but here’s Barrow in his own words,” the ad says before quoting Barrow from his recent ad.

The Georgia Democrat says in that spot that he “doesn’t vote 85 percent of the time with anyone.” but in a 2012 fundraising letter — highlighted in the NRCC spot — he said he has “supported the president and the Democratic leadership, 85 percent of the time.”

The ad then highlights a recent editorial from the district.

The Augusta Chronicle says John Barrow is ‘the most shameless, duplicitous, self-serving politician of his era.’ They’re right,” the ad says.

Barrow’s contradiction could hurt him on the campaign trail, though strategists in both parties say he has the edge for reelection in his deeply conservative district this fall.
