Fleischmann touts his ‘American dream’ in first ad

Rep. Chuck Fleischmann (R-Tenn.) released his first TV ad Tuesday, a positive spot touting the congressman as an example of the American dream.

{mosads}Fleischmann faces an Aug. 7 primary challenge from Republican Weston Wamp, son of the district’s former Rep. Zach Wamp (R-Tenn.), who Fleischmann succeeded in 2010. It’s a rematch of last cycle, where Wamp came in third behind local dairy tycoon Scottie Mayfield with 29 percent of the vote. Fleischmann won the GOP nomination with 39 percent.

This time around, Wamp’s campaign hopes that a one-on-one match with Fleischmann will give him a better shot at reclaiming his father’s seat.

Fleischmann’s ad speaks of how the congressman, independent at 16, worked his way up to his current position, truly seizing the opportunity the American Dream provides.

“Chuck’s faith took him from mopping floors, to starting a small business, to the halls of Congress,” the ad’s narrator says.

The narrator goes on to highlight Fleischmann’s experience and spirit as the things that drive him to protect Tennessee values.

The ad will run on cable and broadcast TV throughout the 3rd District.
