Margolies hits opponent on abortion

Former Rep. Marjorie Margolies (D-Pa.) is looking to pull out a win by attacking her main opponent on abortion.

{mosads}Margolies knocked Pennsylvania state Rep. Brendan Boyle (D) Monday morning, the day before their primary, calling him “anti-choice.”

“Everyone says the same thing: He is anti-choice. And this is a litmus test, certainly for Democratic women,” she said on MSNBC’s “The Daily Rundown.” “He voted for something that successfully closed down six Planned Parenthood centers in Pennsylvania. He is not pro-choice.”

Margolies began the race with a huge name recognition advantage, having represented the district two decades ago and remaining involved in the community since then. She also has support from the Clintons — both Bill and Hillary have campaigned for her. Her son is married to Chelsea Clinton. But the campaign itself has had some rocky patches, and she’s struggled with fundraising and might not win on Tuesday.

Margolies predicted a win, but admitted, “You always think you should have done it differently” when asked about how the campaign has been run.

Boyle knocked Margolies’s “scare tactics” on the show, claiming he is “100 percent” in support of abortion rights.
