GOP: ‘America cannot afford’ Clinton’s economic plan

The Republican National Committee’s (RNC) top strategist on Tuesday slammed Hillary Clinton’s economic policies, piling on a day after Donald Trump delivered a major economic address.

“A presidential election is not just a decision about who will lead our nation right now, but the country we will be in the future,” Sean Spicer wrote in a memo. “On both counts, America cannot afford Hillary Clinton in the White House.”

{mosads}He slammed Clinton as an extension of President Obama, arguing that the Democratic presidential nominee “shares President Obama’s misguided belief that the economy is in good shape.”

“President Obama has spent years touting a veneer of recovery, but the American people know what Obamanomics has really led to: a shrinking middle class with declining wages, a 50-year low in homeownership, and a swelling global trade deficit of $750 billion,” Spicer said.

“Clinton claimed credit for laying the groundwork for ObamaCare years ago, and her own investment in this failed legislation means she will never abandon it if she is president.”

The memo came a day after Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, outlined his vision for the nation’s economy on Monday in a speech to the Detroit Economic Club.

Spicer also slammed Clinton’s foreign policy ideas, again linking her to Obama’s agenda.

“Clinton is not equipped to lead the fight against radical Islamic terrorism as commander-in-chief. As secretary of State, she proved her poor judgement [sic] by turning Libya into a hotbed for jihadist activity.”
