Dem opposition group blasts Walker in new ad

The Democratic opposition research group American Bridge is releasing a Facebook ad attacking Scott Walker on a litany of policy issues related to his time as Wisconsin governor.

The nearly two-minute video, first viewed by The Hill, criticizes Walker for missing his stated goal of creating 250,000 jobs, for signing controversial right-to-work legislation, for budget cuts to Wisconsin’s higher education system and for cutting state funding to Planned Parenthood.

{mosads}“Scott Walker’s extreme record has failed Wisconsin,” the ad’s narrator says. “What makes him think he can run the country?”

American Bridge did not disclose the size of the ad buy.

Walker will launch his bid for the Republican presidential nomination from the Milwaukee suburbs on Monday.

Some of the issues Democrats are highlighting could help the Wisconsin governor in the Republican primaries.

For example, Walker has sought to allay conservatives’ concerns that he’s not tough enough in opposing abortion rights by highlighting that he eliminated state funding for Planned Parenthood.

He also signed legislation earlier this year that bans the requirement that private-sector workers pay labor dues.

Democrats are hopeful that these issues will be damaging for Walker if he reaches the general election.

“I think a lot of people admired what we did in Wisconsin,” Walker says in the American Bridge ad.

“Admired what?” the narrator in the ad responds. “A career politician with a failed record?”
