Tennessee governor coasts to reelection victory
Republican Gov. Bill Haslam coasted to victory in Tennessee Tuesday night.
{mosads}Haslam defeated Democrat Charlie Brown, who was an unfamiliar name before jumping into the race.
The Associated Press called the race moments after polls closed at 8 p.m. Haslam greatly outspent his opponent, who was considered a long shot candidate.
Haslam won his first term as governor in 2010 with 65 percent of the vote.
More than 30 incumbent governors are up for reelection during these midterm elections — many of whom could lose because of the poor economy.
