Calif. activists promise more anti-Trump demonstrations
Latino activists in California are vowing to keep up their protests against Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump, according to the Los Angeles Times.
{mosads}Luis Serrano, an organizer with California Immigration Youth Justice Alliance, told the Times that Trump can expect more demonstrations like the ones he saw during campaign stops in Southern California on Thursday and Friday.
“I think it’s going to get worse if he gets the nomination and is the front-runner. I think it’s going to escalate,” he said. “We’re going to keep showing up and standing against the actions and the hate Donald Trump is creating. We are going to continue to just show up in numbers and stand together.”
About 20 people were arrested Thursday night when violence broke out at a large anti-Trump demonstration in Costa Mesa. And on Friday, protesters swarmed the front of a hotel that Trump spoke at, forcing him to enter through a back entrance.
Trump lashed out at the demonstrators on Saturday, calling them “thugs and criminals.”
