Former Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele says presidential candidate Donald Trump should be called the GOP’s “presumptive nominee.”

“He calls himself the presumptive nominee, what should we call him?” MSNBC “Morning Joe” host Mika Brzezinski asked Steele on Wednesday.

{mosads}”The presumptive nominee,” Steele responded. “If he were any other candidate, that’s exactly what everyone in Washington and around the country would be calling him inside the GOP.

“Donald Trump put together a massive coalition of support last night. He’s now winning in every region of the country,” Steele said.

“I think the party should spend less time trying to deconstruct this opportunity for Donald Trump and figure out how to help him be a successful candidate against Hillary Clinton in November.”

Trump won every congressional district in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware on Tuesday, and won all but six in Connecticut and one in Rhode Island, which John Kasich picked up.
