Trump ekes out win in Vermont over Kasich

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump has won the GOP Vermont primary.

The Associated Press called the race for Trump Tuesday at midnight EST.

{mosads}The celebrity businessman eked out a win over rival John Kasich, whose strong showing in the state kept news outlets from calling the race until hours after polls closed.

The win adds to a big Super Tuesday for Trump. The real estate mogul is set to win in Massachusetts, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Virginia and Vermont.

Kasich still has not won a nominating contest; he came in second in New Hampshire in February. Ted Cruz won two Super Tuesday contests, in Texas and Oklahoma, while Marco Rubio won one, in Minnesota.
