RNC racks up $9.2 million in January

The Republican National Committee (RNC) on Saturday reported a fundraising haul of $9.2 million for the month of January.

{mosads}RNC Chairman Reince Priebus credited small donors for the cash windfall, which was up more than 50 percent from the $6.1 million raised from Nov. 25 – Dec. 31.

“Thanks to our strong grassroots support, the RNC is running a permanent national ground game that will be key to our nominee’s victory in November,” Priebus said in a statement.

“The RNC is organized and engaged earlier and on a larger scale than ever before and the enthusiasm behind our effort is only growing.

“We continue to be the only organization running a national field organization focused on winning the general election, and we’re doing it thanks to our growing number of supporters across the country,” he added.

The RNC reported it has raised $114.8 million this election cycle to try to elect Republican candidates. It has $18.2 million cash on hand.
