Senate Republicans outraise Dems in May


The Senate Republican campaign arm raised nearly $1 million more than its Democratic counterpart in the month of May, based on figures provided to The Hill. 

The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) raised $4.5 million last month, besting the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), which raised $3.6 million during the same period.

{mosads}The DSCC, despite being outraised for the month, reported more cash on hand – $7.8 million – compared to $6.3 million in the bank for the NRSC.

The Democrats’ arm has outraised the NRSC by $1.6 million this year to date.


2024 Election Coverage


The NRSC dropped its debt to $2 million, down from $8 million two years ago. Meanwhile, the DSCC remains saddled with $11.4 million in debt, down from $13.7 million two months ago.

Republicans swept into the majority in the Senate during last year’s midterm elections, taking an eight-seat advantage. Democrats need to net five seats in 2016 to retake the upper chamber.
