Pop singer Ariana Grande will become an honorary citizen of Manchester, England, after her response to the deadly bombing in May that took place at her concert in the city.

Manchester City Council leader Richard Leese proposed to make the 23-year-old artist an honorary citizen after she returned in June to perform in the One Love Manchester benefit concert, which raised money for victims of the terrorist attack, ABC News reported Wednesday.

Grande “brought comfort to thousands and raised millions” in the concert, Leese said.

Manchester council officials voted on Wednesday in support of the proposal.

A bomb was detonated at Grande’s concert in a Manchester arena on May 22. It left 22 people dead. Grande later visited injured fans in the hospital.
