Johnson offers ‘best wishes’ without naming Trump

Libertarian White House nominee Gary Johnson offered his “best wishes” to Donald Trump Wednesday in a concession statement in which he did not mention the president elect by name.

{mosads}“Today is a day to wish the president-elect our best wishes, and a sincere hope that, together, we can get about the business of addressing the challenges this great nation faces,” Johnson said.

Johnson, a former Republican governor of New Mexico, ran as a third-party candidate and picked up 3 percent of the popular vote, but did not win any states.

The Libertarian said he offered voters an “honorable, principled choice in this election.”

“It was about showing millennials, young people and all Americans that they do not have to blindly accept a two party duopoly,” Johnson said. “We have hopefully set the stage for that movement to flourish and have real success at the polls.”
