Pence to campaign with Ryan in Wisconsin
Donald Trump’s running mate, Mike Pence, will be campaigning with Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) in Wisconsin on Saturday, sources familiar with the event told Politico.
{mosads}The event will take place in Field Park in Mukwonago, Wis., and will also feature Gov. Scott Walker and Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.)
The campaign event is said to be part of Johnson’s bus tour around the state as he is facing a tough reelection race against Russ Feingold, who is currently leading in polls by an average of approximately 5 points.
Ryan maintains a closer relationship with the Republican vice presidential nominee than he does with Trump.
The two lawmakers have worked together in the House and are considered by many to be longtime friends.
However, Ryan has been critical of the Republican nominee throughout the election, at one point stating that he will no longer be defending Trump in light of his lewd remarks about women that were caught on hot microphone in 2005.
Pence has also declined to endorse the Speaker for another term, stating that he no longer serves in the House of Representatives.
