Trump’s son: If I had known, I wouldn’t have done the interview
Donald Trump’s son said he didn’t intentionally do an interview with a radio host who once wrote favorably about slavery, noting he wouldn’t have gone through with the interview if he knew the host’s positions.
“This is clearly the mainstream media trying to turn a story into nothing — much like they did with my father, who I witnessed denouncing David Duke and any KKK endorsement on multiple occasions,” Donald Trump Jr. said, according to Bloomberg News.
Donald Trump Jr. recorded a 20-minute interview with “Political Cesspool” host James Edwards that is set to air on Saturday.
“For blacks in the Americas, slavery is the greatest thing that ever happened to them,” Edwards wrote once while commenting on a Jamaican Observer article.
Donald Trump Jr. said he called many different stations to talk about his father’s presidential campaign and didn’t know anything about Edwards.
“Had I known? I would have obviously never done an interview with him,” he said.
