Landrieu ‘extremely disappointed’ in Dem campaign committee

Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) said on Tuesday that she is “extremely disappointed” in Senate Democrats’ campaign committee after it pulled its ad spending for her runoff election.

{mosads}”I am extremely disappointed in the Democratic Senatorial [Campaign] Committee,” Landrieu told The Washington Post. “I’ve said that. You know, they just walked away from this race.”

After Election Day, with Landrieu’s chances of winning the runoff appearing slim, the DSCC canceled its television ad buys in Louisiana. That has left Landrieu to fight an uphill battle against Republican Rep. Bill Cassidy largely on her own.

Landrieu is down by double digits in the polls, ahead of the Dec. 6 runoff.

She also faced a setback last month when not enough Senate Democrats voted for her effort to approve the Keystone pipeline, the bill falling one vote short. That vote was seen as a last-ditch effort to save her campaign.

Landrieu did tell the Post that she gives credit to her Senate colleagues, including Sens. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) and Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.), who have campaigned for her.

“My colleagues have not walked away,” she said.
