Dems avoid embarrassment in runoff
Wealthy dentist David Alameel (D) has won Texas’s Democratic Senate runoff, defeating fringe candidate Kesha Rogers (D).
{mosads}The Associated Press called the race for Alameel, who was leading Rogers by 72 percent to 28 percent with 11 percent of precincts reporting.
Alameel was forced into a surprising runoff two months ago by Rogers an acolyte of gadfly perennial candidate and conspiracy theorist Lyndon LaRouche.
In the general election he’ll face Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), the heavy favorite in the race.
