Polis doubles and triples down on ‘fashion genius’

Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.) and his “fashion genius” are back.

We told you about the new Polis look earlier this month: A bow tie over a buttoned-up, collared polo shirt.

{mosads}There was some speculation at the time that perhaps Polis, one of the wealthiest members of Congress, had lost his luggage or forgot to pick up his laundry.

Polis spokesman Scott Overland didn’t offer any excuses, however. He actually called it “fashion genius” and said that type of intelligence would make a return to the House floor.

That promise has been kept.

On Tuesday and again on Wednesday, Polis continued to pull a Polis.

The first look was familiar: a blue bow tie over a polo-like shirt with a dark jacket. Wednesday was extra special, though still consistent with the Polis fashion doctrine: a red polka dot bow tie over a pink shirt, with a light-colored jacket and a green vest. Yes! A green vest.

These looks lit up Twitter (shocker), and after some back-and-forth tweets, Polis announced he had accepted a consultation from GQ magazine on some fashion tips.

Polis tweeted, “I accept and am looking forward to the consultation!!”

Better clear your schedule, congressman. That consultation might take a while.
