Rand Paul, Huckabee to headline NH summit

Some of the top contenders for the 2016 presidential nomination will head to the crucial early primary state of New Hampshire in April for the inaugural edition of a summit with two top conservative groups.

Citizens United and the Americans for Prosperity Foundation will join forces to host the Freedom Summit in Manchester, N.H.

The April 12 event will feature remarks from Sens. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Mike Lee (R-Utah), former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, former Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.), Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), Donald Trump and American Enterprise Institute President Arthur Brooks.

Bossie, in a statement Tuesday night.

“Working with AFP Foundation to bring this important summit to New Hampshire I hope will start an even larger conversation around the country.”

Tim Phillips, the national head of the powerful conservative group AFP, said, “our Freedom Summit will provide an excellent opportunity for the hard-working people of New Hampshire to compare and contrast the direction in which our country is headed and how their tax dollars are being spent.

“We look forward to bringing grassroots activists from across the state to Manchester to hear from some of the leaders in the free-market movement and to exchange ideas on how to best get our country back on the path to economic prosperity.”
