I co-write Morning Report, The Hill's morning newsletter. We cover the major stories driving the day in Washington, ensuring readers start their days informed about the most important news on Capitol Hill, in the White House and beyond. Before joining The Hill, I was a 2020-2022 Report For America corps member and worked as the economic development and housing reporter for The Modesto Bee, where I covered everything from housing policy to PPP loan distribution during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have also written for The Washington Monthly, UPI, Sojourners and MarketWatch. I studied journalism and political science at Northwestern University, where I was a managing editor at The Daily Northwestern and covered local politics. I'm Austrian, and spent my childhood in Montreal and Denver watching German-language children's news shows that made me want to be a reporter when I grew up.
