William Barr grants first TV interview since leaving Trump administration

Former Attorney General William Barr is sitting down for an interview with NBC News anchor Lester Holt, his first since leaving former President Trump’s administration.

The hourlong special will air in prime time on March 6 at 9 p.m., the network said.

Highlights from the conversation will air on March 3 on “NBC Nightly News” and March 4 on “Today.” Barr will also speak with anchor Savannah Guthrie for a live one-on-one interview on “Today” on March 7.

Barr is doing the NBC spots as he looks to promote his upcoming book, “One Damn Thing After Another,” which NBC called “a candid memoir documenting his tenures as attorney general under former Presidents Donald Trump and George H.W. Bush.”

Barr announced his resignation just weeks after the 2020 presidential election, shortly after Trump blasted him over reports that he kept from the public view information about a federal investigation into now-President Biden’s son Hunter Biden. The former president also shared a tweet that called on Barr to be fired if the reports were true.
