Democrats are facing a tough road ahead of November’s midterm elections as they look to maintain control of the House and Senate.
The president’s political party often loses seats during his first midterm election, but that’s not the only factor out of favor with Democrats. Member retirements and an incomplete set of legislative achievements pose a serious problem for Democratic leaders.
