Jill Biden to co-host Food Network Thanksgiving special with Trisha Yearwood

First lady Jill Biden is joining forces with country music star Trisha Yearwood to host a holiday food special titled “A White House Thanksgiving,” Variety reports.

The special, set to air on Food Network and Discovery Plus on Nov. 20, will provide viewers with “a rarely-seen glimpse at holiday entertaining at the White House,” said Food Network president Courtney White.

During the program, Biden and Yearwood will work on creating seasonal decor using flowers from the White House Kitchen Garden. White House chief floral designer Hedieh Ghaffarian will provide expertise on floral arrangements.

Other White House employees will also be featured, including White House executive chef Cristeta Comerford, who will demonstrate how to properly cook White House Thyme Roasted Turkey, and White House executive pastry chef Susan Morrison, who will make a White House Apple Crisp.

Yearwood is set to make a turkey gravy and Biden will put a personal spin on the holiday special by following her grandmother’s savory stuffing recipe.

“Food is love – and gathering together this year for Thanksgiving is healing for our hearts,” Biden said in a statement, according to Variety. “The family recipes passed down through the generations, the fun traditions that continue, and the meaningful blessings shared, all keep me filled with gratitude.”

She added, “It was fun opening up the White House to Food Network and learning cooking tips from Trisha and the White House chefs and florist, while sharing my own family recipes.  I hope everyone watching comes away feeling that cooking a Thanksgiving meal is something anyone can do, but if you’re still nervous about making the gravy, like I am, you’re in good company!”
