Los Angeles school district to start new school year in-person, retain online option
The Los Angeles Unified School District is planning to start school year in the fall with in-person learning, while also offering the option of online learning.
Superintendent Austin Beutner issued a statement on Monday saying that elementary, middle and high school students will have in-person classes for the full week, with middle and high school students changing classes each period. After school programs will be available for students until 6 p.m.

Bueter said the online option would be available for students who are unable to come to school or choose to continue to learn online from home.
“We expect the vast majority of students, teachers and staff to be at school every day but recognize that we must provide the online opportunity for those who need it,” he said.
The Los Angeles school district is the second-largest in the nation.
