Fox News says network and anchor Leland Vittert have ‘parted ways’

Fox News correspondent and weekend co-anchor Leland Vittert have parted ways, Fox News confirmed Friday.

“We have mutually and amicably parted ways with Leland Vittert,” a Fox News spokeswoman said via email.

Vittert did not reply to The Hill’s request for comment, and Fox News did not say why Vittert stopped working for the network or when.

Vittert was among a trio of Fox News anchors targeted by former President Trump in 2019 when he tweeted they should work at CNN instead of Fox.

That same year, Vittert clashed on air with presidential hopeful former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) when Gabbard accused him of “misconstruing” her policies.

Along with his crew, Vittert was chased by protesters while covering a demonstration outside the White House last March.

A former war correspondent, Vittert said the Washington, D.C., incident was the scariest situation he’s been in since getting chased out of Tahrir Square in Egypt by a mob during the 2011 Arab Spring uprising.
