MSNBC anchor Katy Tur announced Monday that she was pregnant with her second child, while touting her company’s maternity leave policy and arguing that all Americans should have access to such a program.

Remarking on her show that her announcement had been scooped by Page Six, Tur said that she and husband Tony Dokoupil were “very excited” to announce the addition to their family. Tur, 37, has two stepchildren with Dokoupil, and one son born in 2019.

“I also want to say thank you to all of my colleagues and everyone out there, all of you who have been so supportive, and were so supportive when I was pregnant with Teddy,” she said, referring to her son.

“Also a thank you to my company, NBC News and Comcast. We’ve got an unbelievable family leave program, something, as you know, I firmly believe all of us should have access to,” Tur continued.

Tur announced her last pregnancy during a live broadcast as well, at the time joking with fellow MSNBC correspondent Kasie Hunt that Hunt would now be known as “Aunt Kasie.”

The MSNBC anchor rose to national prominence for her coverage of the 2016 presidential campaign and in particular for now-former President Trump’s often-personal attacks targeting her.

She later wrote a book about the experience, titled “Unbelievable: My Front-Row Seat to the Craziest Campaign in American History.”
