“There is a tremendous amount of uncertainty surrounding the impacts of the COVID-19 spread and, now more than ever, self-care is essential when it comes to taking care of our physical and emotional-well beings,” said Daniel Lubetzky, Founder and Executive Chairman of KIND, in a release promoting the company’s new platform, KIND RD. 

Whether you’ve had COVID-19 or not, the pandemic has likely taken a toll on your body.   

The website will match you to a dietitian in your area based on your lifestyle and future goals and give you a complimentary 15 minute virtual session. The number of telehealth visits have more than doubled in the last year, according to information provided by the foundation, providing an alternative to in-person care.

The participating dietitians are part of KIND’s Nutrition Collective, which the snack bar company launched in 2017, and can help you develop a safe and realistic plan to stay healthy. 

“There has never been a more critical time for people to learn more about nutrition from credible resources and to take care of their bodies with healthy, whole foods,” said Lyssie Lakatos, a registered dietitian and certified personal trainer, in a release. 

An estimated 41 percent of U.S. adults had delayed or avoided medical care because of the coronavirus pandemic, according to a report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Twelve percent of those needed urgent or emergency care, but 32 percent had put off routine care. And while it might not seem important in the midst of the pandemic, preventative care could help keep you from becoming sick and adding to the toll on an already overburdened health care system.
