George Conway calls Meadows a ‘moron’ and a ‘disgrace’
George Conway, the husband of former White House counselor Kellyanne Conway and a vocal critic of President Trump, blasted White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows Sunday for touting the number of GOP members of Congress who plan to object to President-elect Joe Biden’s electoral victory.
“We’re now at well over 100 House members and a dozen Senators ready to stand up for election integrity and object to certification,” Meadows tweeted Saturday evening. “It’s time to fight back.”
“You’re a moron and a disgrace,” Conway tweeted in reply on Sunday morning.

Meadows’ tweet comes after a coalition of 11 GOP senators, including Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) and James Lankford (R-Okla.), announced they will join Sen. Josh Hawley’s (R-Mo.) objection to Biden’s Electoral College win when Congress votes Wednesday.
More than 100 GOP members of Congress are also expected to object to the certification. Any such objection must pass both chambers of Congress to actually prevent Biden from taking office.
Such an effort is almost certainly doomed in both the Democratic House and in the Senate, where enough Republican senators have said they will vote to certify Biden that he will likely win a majority.
Conway has for years been a strident critic of the Trump administration despite his wife’s role in it, leading the president to single him out by name in 2019. Conway went on to work with the Lincoln Project before announcing he would step back from the anti-Trump super-PAC in late 2020.
