Sean Penn jokes Russians hacked his hair in viral ‘Morning Joe’ appearance
Sean Penn’s appearance on “Morning Joe” on Tuesday caused viewers to question what inspired his unruly hairstyle.
The actor appeared on the morning talk show hosted by Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski and Willie Geist to promote his nonprofit Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE), which is helping to combat the coronavirus nationwide, while wearing a white t-shirt, with hair that was sticking up all over.
Twitter users were quick to roast Penn over his “homeless” look, with one user dubbing it the “most 2020 thing ever.”

The Academy Award winner explained his look on Twitter, joking that Russia had hacked it.
He seized upon the moment by encouraging people to donate to his charity.
“If you think my hair goes wild on Morning Joe when hacked by Russians (allegedly), you should see how much wilder it goes when peeps donate to @COREResponse,” he wrote.

On Friday, Penn tweeted about the alleged Russian cyberattack on SolarWinds, writing that it will “impact our lives in ways we can’t yet imagine.”
This (allegedly) Russian hack is going to impact our lives in ways we can’t yet imagine. Never a more important time for Americans to find common ground. It’s time for Congress to lead by example.
