Obama to sit with Stephen Colbert for interview

Former President Obama is returning to the late-night TV circuit for an interview with Stephen Colbert to promote his new book.

The ex-commander in chief will chat with the “Late Show” host in-person in Washington for an interview airing next week, CBS announced Tuesday.

The appearance will be “the only in-person interview Mr. Obama does for late night television,” the network said in a statement.

Obama has been on a publicity tour plugging his new memoir, “A Promised Land,” which was released Tuesday.

It’s not the first time the 44th president has sat down with Colbert, who’s been one of the fiercest critics of President Trump on the late-night TV landscape. Obama made his only other “Late Show” appearance in 2016, just weeks before the presidential election.
