Ignorance defined

If you can’t tell, I’m a bit upset and surprised that Wolffe would swallow Olbermann’s liberal Kool-Aid so completely and ignorantly describe current Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele as a “token” black man to play opposite President Barack Obama. Regular readers of this blog know I rarely have love lost for Mr. Steele, but Wolffe’s comments are both ignorant and misinformed.

How soon he’s forgotten that the RNC hierarchy didn’t want Steele in the first place. It wasn’t until a bloody intraparty fight that he was the last man standing. Wolffe gave the impression on Oct. 5 that Republicans gleefully crowned Steele their leader, and then presumably started cashing in their chits to say whatever they wanted about Obama because their “racism” had been atoned for by Steele’s presence.

What idiocy. Is he actually reading the papers he wrote for all those years ago?

The sad commentary is Wolffe probably spent hours of his own time concocting such guilt-ridden nonsense. I suppose Wolffe believes the more he publicly eschews racism and heaps it on Republicans, the better folks from his leanings sleep at night.

These are dangerous times, friends, when self-respecting journalists feel they can lend their own radical views to the social debate and then gingerly step into their impartial costumes and expect to be hailed as sojourners of truth. And we wonder why the newspaper industry is hemorrhaging so badly?

As a former journalist, folks expect better from you, Dick. Just because you can go on an absurd show and mouth off senselessly on any topic you deem worthy doesn’t mean you should.
