Amazon.com Inc. hired Hilltop Advocacy to work on issues around computer science education in K-12 classrooms. Erin Siefring, former chief of staff to ex-Rep. Dave Brat (R-Va.), will work on the account.

Netflix Inc. hired Mercury Public Affairs to work on general federal advocacy issues. Al Simpson, former chief of staff to then-Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-S.C.), will work on the account.

CORONAVIRUS RELIEF

7-Eleven Inc. hired Steptoe & Johnson LLP to work on issues related to coronavirus-relief legislation. Doug Kantor, special counsel and deputy chief of staff at the Department of Housing and Urban Development during the Clinton administration, will work on the account.

OpCo Granger IA LLC, an Iowa-based skilled nursing facility, hired Baker Donelson Bearman Caldwell & Berkowitz PC to work on advocacy related to the Department of Health and Human Services’s COVID-19 relief payments. Jeffrey Davis, former health care legislative assistant to ex-Rep. Shelley Berkley (D-Nev.), will work on the account.

K7 Design Group Inc. LLC, a New York-based personal protective equipment distributor, hired Jenkins Hill Consulting to work on importation of PPE. Scott Barnhart, former deputy chief of staff to ex-Sen. Connie Mack (R-Fla.), will work on the account.

HEALTH CARE

PHI Inc., a helicopter services company, hired the Picard Group to work on coronavirus relief aid, discussions regarding solutions to address balance billing and to preserve access to emergency air ambulance services, particularly in rural areas, and surprise medical billing. Hunter Hall, former special assistant at the Commerce Department during the Trump administration, will work on the account.

DEFENSE

Second Front Systems, a cybersecurity developer, hired the Vogel Group to work on issues around the National Defense Authorization Act. Alex Vogel, former chief counsel to ex-Sen. Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.), and Brian Johnson, former director of federal affairs at the American Petroleum Institute, will work on the account.
