Philip Morris International Inc. hired Suzanne Rich Folsom as senior vice president and general counsel, with a July 1 start date. She succeeds Marc Firestone, who is retiring. Folsom previously was a partner at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP for more than a year. Before that, she was general counsel, chief compliance officer and senior vice president of government affairs and global public policy at the United States Steel Corp.
Arielle Beer is joining the public affairs team at the Association of American Medical Colleges after almost two years at Zero to Three, a nonprofit that focuses on infant and toddler health. Before that, she was senior communications associate for initiatives at the Clinton Foundation.
Bryce Harlow, former vice president of government relations at CBS, will be a lobbyist at Subject Matter. Harlow worked for CBS for nearly 14 years. He left in March when the company merged with Viacom. Before CBS, he was director of government relations at the National Association of Broadcasters and congressional liaison at the Federal Trade Commission.
Tom Lynch is joining the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association. He is leaving the lobbying firm Ice Miller Strategies, where he was a principal, after more than seven years. Before that, he was staff director for the Democrats on the Senate Environment and Public Works Subcommittee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
