Fox’s Chris Wallace to interview Joe Biden for first time since 2007
“Fox News Sunday” anchor Chris Wallace will interview former Vice President Joe Biden this Sunday, two days before more than a dozen states will hold voting contests in the Democratic presidential race.
The sit-down with the former vice president ahead of Super Tuesday marks the first time he has appeared on Wallace’s program since 2007.
The network said in its announcement that Biden is expected to discuss the results of Saturday’s South Carolina primary, “along with the latest surrounding his 2020 presidential campaign.”
South Carolina is considered by many political pundits as a do-or-die state for Biden, who has led several polls in the state this week by double-digits.
Biden is seeking a win in the state to jump-start his campaign after he underperformed in the first three contests of the primary season in Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada, earning only 15 delegates to 45 for front-runner Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).
Wallace has scored several interviews with 2020 Democratic presidential candidates, including Sanders, former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and billionaire activist Tom Steyer.
Biden has taken questions in campaign gaggles this election cycle from Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy, but the Wallace interview marks his first formal sit-down on Fox in 13 years.
