Federal intervention put America in ‘Dire Straits’
Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) channeled one of the most famous 80s rock songs in blaming “federal government intervention” for causing the housing crisis in 2007.
Issa blamed Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac for doling out high-risk loans to people who could not afford homes in his linked op-ed.
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee ranking member tweeted Monday:
