Christie tweets anti-corruption ad amid N.J. money laundering scandal
In a web ad released the day after two New Jersey mayors and a state assemblyman were arrested on federal corruption charges, Republican gubernatorial candidate Chris Christie released a web ad promoting his anti-corruption record as a former U.S. attorney.
A member of Gov. Jon Corzine’s (D) cabinet also resigned in the wake of the arrests. Christie lead Corzine in the polls before news of the scandal broke.

In the ad, the Chrisite says “as U.S. Attorney, I put corrupt public officials in jail. Republicans and Democrats. As governor, I’ll make the same tough, independent decisions.”
The arrests were made on charges that public officials participated in a money laundering ring that trafficked human organs, among other items.
Corzine said yesterday that “any corruption is unacceptable – anywhere, anytime, by anybody…The scale of corruption we’re seeing as this unfolds is simply outrageous and cannot be tolerated.”
