DEFENSE. Navatek, a diversified commercial and defense research company, recently hired Cornerstone Government Affairs for federal research and development funding, according to disclosures. Todd Webster, former chief of staff to Sen. Christopher Coons (D-Del.), and William Todd, former professional staff member on the Senate Appropriations Committee, will work on the account.

 

Navatek also hired Red Maple Consulting to work on appropriations and the National Defense Authorization Act. Pete Kirkham, former chief of staff to Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.), will work on the account.

 

First Command Financial Services, a company that does financial planning and banking for America’s military service members, hired Husch Blackwell Strategies to work on issues related to the financial education of military families. John Ariale, former chief of staff to ex-Rep. Ander Crenshaw (R-Fla.), and Christian Morgan, former chief of staff to Rep. Ann Wagner (R-Mo.), will work on the account.

 

TRADE. Colorado-based Nite Ize Inc., a personal product and accessory developer and manufacturer, hired S-3 Group to work on exclusions from certain tariff proposals. Kate Dickens, former chief of staff to ex-Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.); Matt Bravo, former director of floor operations for then-House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.); and John Scofield, former deputy press secretary to ex-Sen. Mark Hatfield (R-Ore.), will work on the account.{mosads}

 

ARTS. The National Music Museum, based in South Dakota, hired Bockorny Group Inc. to work on issues related to federal funding for the arts. Scott Styles, former chief of staff to ex-Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Texas), and Joseph Rubin, former counsel to Rep. Steve Chabot (R-Ohio), will work on the account.
