Trump tweets edited image of dog from al-Baghdadi raid receiving Medal of Honor
President Trump on Wednesday tweeted an edited image of himself awarding a Medal of Honor to the dog injured in the U.S. military operation in Syria that led to the death of ISIS leader Abu Baker al-Baghdadi over the weekend.
The photo, which has a watermark with the Twitter handle of The Daily Wire, shows the dog edited into a 2017 photo of Trump who, in the original, was awarding the Medal of Honor to James McCloughan, a retired Army captain who saved dozens of lives during the Vietnam War.
The image is one of several that The Daily Wire has shared on its social media platforms in the days after the ISIS raid.{mosads}
In his tweet, Trump captioned the photo, “AMERICAN HERO!”

Hours later, The Daily Wire quipped back with an edited image of Trump posing with several bags of dog food in the White House, captioning the photo, “99.9% sure this is photoshopped.”

Voice of America White House bureau chief Steve Herman tweeted that Trump administration officials acknowledged the photo was altered and that the dog was not at the White House.
The tweet comes as Trump was set on Wednesday to award the Medal of Honor to Matthew O. Williams, an Army master sergeant who helped save the lives of four wounded soldiers while serving in Afghanistan.
Trump has praised the dog in recent days, tweeting a photo on Monday of the “wonderful” dog that he said had been declassified, adding that the animal’s name is classified and could not be made public.
“We have declassified a picture of the wonderful dog (name not declassified) that did such a GREAT JOB in capturing and killing the Leader of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi!” he tweeted.
