Steele alleges ‘reckless experiment’ by Obama and Dems
President Obama is conducting a “reckless experiment” with the U.S. economy with his policies, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele charged in a speech Monday.
When it comes to stimulating the economy and reforming healthcare, Steele railed against “The Barack Obama Experiment” in a speech before the National Press Club this morning.
“He’s conducting a dangerous experiment with our health care,” Steele said. “He’s conducting a reckless experiment with our economy.”
“The Barack Obama experiment with America is a risk our country cannot afford.” It’s too much, too fast, too soon,” the Republican leader added.
To boot, the RNC launched a website, “The Obama Experiment” to fight back against the president’s push for a healthcare reform bill this summer and fall.
And in a speech that used the word “experiment” 30 times, Steele said that Democratic leaders in the Congress — as well as centrist, rank-and-file Democrats — are complicit in that scheme.
“Harry and Nancy aren’t really doctors,” Steele argued, referring to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), “but they are playing doctor in Washington, experimenting with health care, insisting on a big government takeover.”
“And please do not mention the Blue Dogs to me,” the RNC chairman added. “Their press releases may talk about fiscal responsibility, but, in the end, they have been Nancy Pelosi’s most reliable voting bloc.”
